Required elements to the

Uechiryu Butokukai master’s Testing

  • The proper completion of this application will assure all records are accurate and that there is no miscommunication regarding your eligibility to test.

    The Master’s Testing Registration includes complementary training for candidate’s the entire weekend of UechiCon and banquet tickets for the candidate and a guest. More can be purchased during registration.

  • Bio: Two or three paragraphs explaining why you began training, what keeps you going and fun Uechi stories.

    Photos and/or videos: Fifteen or twenty past and present photos/videos of you teaching, training and even a few outside the dojo. These will be used in the program and on social media (with your permission) to give the participants of this year’s November Event a preview of the candidates.

  • The criteria of the test at this year’s Uechi-Con includes: SANCHIN, SEISAN and SANSEIRU. In addition to your normal training routines, all Master Candidates in the Uechiryu Butokukai are asked to:

    Show that you are boosting your training (e.i. Free weight lifting, regular Jogging) in addition to your Uechi training.

    Do your best to visit the following dojos to help expand your training in different environments.

    Northborough Dojo (T Rose)

    Londonderry Dojo (Dan Dovidio)

    Lexington Dojo (Allan Azoff)

    Hollis Dojo (Neil Stone)

    Please make it a priority to attend the following three training classes at the Atkinson Dojo (all as part of the 11:30am class):

    - Saturday, June 22nd

    - Saturday, July 27th

    - Saturday, August 10th

  • Current plans are for this test to kick off by 7pm, though it is recommended that you are present (with Gi on) by 6:30pm. This test will be both live-streamed and recorded for graduates and loved ones who wish to remain at home (CLICK HERE).

  • This is a fantastic formal event for seniors and loved ones. Dress code is “Semi-Formal.”

  • Participants of this year’s UechiCon Training Event are there to excel in their training as martial artists. Participating in the training seminars gives the attendees an opportunity to see you in action and, in some cases, get a chance to know you.

    Thursday (9/12), Friday (9/13) and Saturday (9/14) Training is complementary with the Master’s Testing Registration.

  • Where we will be ending with a group photo (Gi attire). This graduation will be both live-streamed and recorded for graduates and loved ones are unable to attend physically.
