CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations on reaching the point in your training where you are being considered to test for your next rank. Even with Martial Arts being a common practice in our environment, being considered for the rank of black belt is a fantastic testimony to your hard work and dedication.

Ultimately, your eligibility for testing will be based upon your time of practice and your performance level. Going forward, it is highly recommended that you work out in as many regularly scheduled classes and take advantage of as extra classes that your dojo offers (as possible).

This is a time to get into a real TRAINING MODE in your Karate to help prepare you for your potential testing.

Details of the 2026 Uechiryu Butokukai(tm) Black Belt Testing will be online in the next few months, but I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you participate in this year’s annual Uechi Convention (otherwise known as UechiCon). Not only is it a historic event combining Master’s Testing and Black Belt graduation, but the seminars are filled with some of the best and most-experienced martial artists in the Uechi World. Training with these instructors will be a great way to help you prepare for the upcoming training and testing cycle.
