Uechiryu Butokukai Cross Training

At Dojos from across the Uechiryu Butokukai!

From November through May, select dojos of the Uechiryu Butokukai offer specific classes for all the candidates to attend.

Nothing will get you more prepared for this test than taking full advantages of these seniors with decades of experience. As such, you are highly encouraged to take advantage of as many of these classes as you reasonably can. Talk with your Sensei on his or her recommendation, but past candidates have found that committing to an average of two "foreign” dojos per month through to end of May was extremely beneficial to their goal of black belt excellence.

To get started, please use the above link to register for the training classes. We ask that you reach out to the dojo that you are planning to attend at least three days in advance of your arrival (just in case there is an unknown dojo closing).

All classes at all locations will have fascinating points of view that you will find invaluable during the six months of the black belt testing. In addition to the core training, every month will revolve around a theme:

• December: Physical fitness to allow you to move quicker and with better balance

• January: Core Basics for every part of your curriculum

• February: Partner skills to enhance your interactive education

• March: Formalities of the testing and the curriculum, that tie everything together.

• April: Review of lessons learned from the Black Belt Testing Review

• May: Training as a “ho” (Provisional status of your next rank).
